Anyone going this Year?
Have just been checking Accommodation and so much of it is full already. Contemplating staying in Oxford for the Weekend as there will be stuff to do there in the evenings and only 30 miles away.
Anyone been to this GP before?
Recommendations on where to sit? thinking of a Weekend Pass.
total N00b with GP`s, never actually attended one. Armchair F1 fan FTW.
Comments/advice appreciated.
Cheers.

past experience luffield or woodcote is the best to watch, that way you can see pitstops and the garages but also a couple of corners, the campsite opposite is pretty good as theres entertainment every evening and is walking distance from the track

Thank you very much for your kind offer Steven although I fear for my sanity and my anal passage should I spend an evening at yours.
Although I would like a piece of GTF pie similar to the one you served your Father.

Have you looked in Northampton town at all? They do a good park and ride service from sixfields football stadium. I was looking at going again this year but duno as the price goes up each year. The gold seating for full weekend seems ok for what you get or club silverstone which is nice to be in.
And yes the new pits will be used this year I am told.

I went there last year, had hospitality tickets so was in a stand at becketts.
I stayed here http://www.macdonaldhotels.co.uk/bear/
In woodstock. Took about 45 mins max to get into silverstone from there.

I sat in the stand on the outside of Becketts when i went in 1998. Was called the Top Gear stand back then, no idea what it is now.
Get an awesome view from there of them coming off the straight after Copse, through Becketts and onto the Hanger Straight.
Another good spot in on the start finish straight, more towards Luffield 1/2 so you can see them come under the bridge, through the complex, down the start/finish straight and into Copse.
