Ok, I'm stuck!

I'm on the lookout for a dslr camera. I have had a nikon d40 but broke it whilst cleaning it

Looking to spend around £300 max for the time being which must include a camera and possibly 2 lenses. Not sure if its possible to get one for that price but I have seen a few more d40's going for £200 with 2 lenses and in good condition.

I'm no pro with a camera so don't want a mega expensive one that I wont know how to use it. I just want it for simple scenery shots and alot of sport shots.

I'm swaying towards the nikon range for some reason?

What broke on the d40? Is it not repairable?

Ebay is your best bet. I managed to replace my stolen 400D with another one off ebay for Just over £300. I got 3 lenses and a battery grip. The flash wasnt working but two seconds to fix (the little microswitch under the hotshoe was pressed in

I broke the internal mirror. took it into jessops and they told me nikon would charge a lot to repair it. I sacked that idea off and got £140 on ebay for it broken.

I'd sell my D50, 18-55, with a few extras for £200.

Going to buy a D90 or similar at the end of next month anyway.

Urrrm, what would you want?

D50 - Boxed - Great Condition, all manuals etc
Sigma 55-200 lens - Non Auto Focus, as the lens is damaged... could throw that in if you wanted to use it manually?
2Gb SD card?
Few Filters...

That seems fair enough. so to make the sigma lense work I'd need to put it on MF?

I'm useless at this stuff

Sigma lens was a brilliant lens, in the show it got wet and generally doesn't AF anymore... no idea why but hey ho! 18-55 AF's fine, as does the camera as a whole.
