Looking to buy a bike for general use and nipping about and for runs. Wont be entirely road use but wont be proper off road and downhill. Maybe some forrest tracks. Went for a look in halfords as its the only place locally for bikes and theyve 20% off the boardman mtb comp and its £559. From what I seen and with my limited or no knowledge about bikes it seems to be what im looking for. Googled it and saw a topic on bike radar giving good reviews about it.
Whats the bikers on here's opinion?

Seems there isnt a bad word to be said about it, only on the forum about halfords staff which isnt a surprise

Is there alot of difference between the comp and team?
Was only looking at spending around £500-£600 and comp seems to tick all the boxes so far

Depends what price range is... If looking to spend £500/600 then best off with a front suspension instead of full. The one posted looks decent - light and hydraulic discs.
I went for a newer second hand as I wanted full suspension for no more than 1k. Ended up with a carbon specialized which is awesome dh and on climbs - wouldn't use it on roads.
