Going to tackle vandal damage, thinking just sanding back with a machine sander at about 400, down to 800 to finish? Just back to primer, not going bare metal so it shouldn't need prep afterwards, thoughts?

Also need the glass out. Got a tool to do it here but the blade is really thick and doesn't actually move when you put it in. Looking like we'll just needs knife blades and some caution unless there are better approaches. Need the rear sides and windscreen both out.

As said, Use the window wire, Makes the job easier to get out.

As for the sanding, Use a DA sander with an interface pad on to get around the curves of the bodywork. Best to just go over after with a coat of primer incase of any bits where bare metal has come through.

400 will burn through easily. What type of vandal damage? Keyed? If you really want to get it out it's probably best to take it back to metal. But you know how deep they are.
Aerosol etch primer on bare metal if there is any then normal primer (halfords job) if they are only a small area.
I would use 600-1000. 600 to take out the scratches if they are just laquer then 1000 to rough up the paint n smooth out the scratched
