Currently driving a 1.8, 54 plate Astra Coupe, but with buying a house its costing me too much to run so on the look out for something a bit cheaper. I like the Astra I just cant afford to be spending almost £200p/m to run it

Would like at least a 1.4 engine, preferably with around 40k on the clock, and around an 05 plate, and dont really want to spend over £4.5k if possible.

So far been looking at Corsa C Sri, Clio's, Fiesta's and Puntos. All come in various conditions etc and there are more out there in then I first though.

I know there will be loads out there, but anything else I should look at, or any other recomendations?

Cheers

How long are you going to keep the new car?

Have you recently spent alot of money on yours so will not need anything in the near future?

You are obviously spending more than what you car is worth. Its not the most costly car to run anyways (insurance, tax fuel etc), and cant see something with 'at least a 1.4' any cheaper. It would take you a long while to gain any money back from swopping it.

The 1.8 engine is a joke. I'm lucky if I see 30mpg around town.

Definitely poor for MPG the x18xe1. When it's cold it can be laughable, seems to drink it.
