Rob E did it in south Wales. Think that's his username now. His course was different to mine and sounded better. Mine didn't have fuck all to do with motors till 3rd/4th year.
Remember you'll have to put up with 18 yo students too. That's one of the worst bits.

Plus there's nothing to stop you hating law in five years' time.
I'm the same with education, disillusioned with the whole process.
But there are bits I enjoy and the grass probably isn't greener. Particularly as at our age, we would be noobs in a different industry, something we're not currently subjected to.

Same (except 2 years for me since graduated). Not like I came out with a poor classification either.

Are you actually interested in law? Don't do something just because there's some misconception that there's money in the profession...

If you're fed up with boats too, Jaguar Land Rover are increasing their production output threefold over the next three or four years. They're employing engineers and designers to work in product development at the moment. It is their graduate scheme, but you get very well paid for it and I think you might still have a chance at it? http://www.jaguarlandrovercareers.com/Career-Opportunities/Graduates/Default.aspx

I did a 1 year evening course last year, nothing mayor, just fancied learning a bit about it all from a business point of view
