OK, new engine been up and runing (stationary as no gears) for few weeks now.
Last time I used it, I parked it (about week ago) and left it. went to start today and it wouldnt turn over heres what happens
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sqO2bNoNumc&hd=1
First thought was battery, as have had problems with that.
Went and bought a brand new one, still same completly same problem, so connected it via jump leads to Dragons car, and still the same
At wont point, would just click once when started it, sounded like stuck startor motor, then randomly went back to the same in video above
HELP PLEASE

Do you have no gears at all? Would try bump starting it to see if its the starter.

No gears whatsoever, we planned on wacking it in 3rd manually by the turret, and driving to garage, to get them sort it, as think I know problem with them now.Obvioulwy bumping car in 3rd is not easy.
Does this sound like the starter to you? I though when starter was knackered would only be few clicks not continuous

Sounds like either the starter soldenoid throwing a wobbler, or maybe if thers some broken teeth on the starter ring then the starter is jus slipping?
These are just guesses tho man, never heard a sound like that b4 when trying to start. Tidy looking bay tho

Bays a state mate lol, got loads new painted bits to go on, not goign to until its stops becoming a workkbench!
Will buy a startor motor I guess. Chances of this happening now, seems unlikely though, I know can go at anytime though..
Would starting car with little or no battery over and over kill it?

Have you tried introducing the starter motor to a 2.5'' square bit of timber via a mallet?

Just watched the video there, that sounds like either the starter motor is half engaged and the teeth are slightly rubbing the flywheel or the teeth are completely fucked on either the starter gear or flywheel.
You've not tried starting it when it's been running lately have you? Does the engine turn at all when you try to start it?

you can but its a cunt to get out, sounds as if the starters destroyed itself, if you have and inspection plate o the bottom of your gearbox, take it off and see if theres any crap inside it from the started just incase, also have you tried makig sure the engines still turning over? but either jacking the front off the ground and puttint it in gear and turning the wheels or using a socket on the bottom pulley

Just to make sure, when you fire it up does the bottom pulley + aux belt turn or is it only the starter turning?
