I was pleasantly suprised with that performance, we played really well from the start pressing all over the pitch, some lovely passing and I thought our 2 CM's were excellent, they must have won 80% of the 2nd balls for us and set the tone brilliantly. Carroll and Suarez look to have got a decent understanding going on, but I was more impressed with there 'defend from the front' attitude than anything else.

In saying all of that, we've done well against the bigger clubs this season, and we've been much better at home so it'll mean nothing if we can't back it up with at least a couple of wins on the road in the run in (and in turn give us a bit of hope for next season). City were average at best and I was baffled by mancini's substitutions in particular, but that was still our best 'team' performance of the season which makes me happy, we were without 3 key players and we did well without them.

Liverpool always tend to raise their game against the bigger teams, like it's their cup final then go and lose to the lower league sides.

In recent years that's true, we used to be the other way round a few years further back (apart from in the CL). I will be happy if I see our players try and play football away from home this season, sick of the hoofball tactics away from home, it's still 11 vs 11 on a piece of grass

I was on a aircraft back from Johannesburg and thank fuck i was. Going to sit and watch the match later but by all accounts we were fucking gutless.

Stand no chance against United at the weekend now and 4th is the fucking yids for the taking now.

Excellent stuff. We will still have to be wary of Adam Johnson and Silva but feeling confident.

You have Bobby Manc leading City though so there is nothing to worry about.
