Need to run this software for slightly longer than the trial period, anyone have any tips or anything that could help me do this

Run it in a VM and reinstall that when the trial finishes? Use a crack? These are about your only options....

doesn anyone have a serial or crack, i can edit the host file so just need a serial for now.

If you've used it before you've cracked it, then you're too late. You're going to have a little bit of a job too cleaning it all from your system before you can try again too.

One of my customers gets those stupid messages come up saying their license key or whatever is invalid after a few days' use and they actually bought the software, so good luck trying to get a pirate version to work properly!

Got a "purchased" copy of CS5 running on OSX and Windows, works fine 
What you need to do is modify your host BEFORE installing so CS5 can't contact the outside. Or use something like Windows 7 Firewall Control (can do it through control panel but W7FC is a lot lot easier) or Little Snitch and prevent the app gaining internet access.
