Just can't get on with the wire. Have been lent the first season and I'm 4episodes in and so far it's like watching paint dry. Characters are all boring, started with the cliché of cop getting his chops busted by his captain/boss. It's dull. Everyone bangs on about it being the best thing ever but I just don't get it

I must admit I was like that with The Wire at first, but I persevered with it and by the end I was absolutely hooked. The earlier episodes are really just setting the scene and the characters backgrounds.

I just don't get it. Nothing has happened, I'm not interested in any of the characters none of them have any redeeming qualities. It's shot badly, looks cheap, and I'm sure it does get better but seriously it's boring as fuck.

Same as Jambo. I forced my way through watching the first series and whilst some of it was quality, I found it a bit slow paced.

Started watching series two and didn't think it was improving any so gave up.

Lost was the best show ever, never been into a TV show as much. The ending however, was utter shit. Overall though I think about the joy I spent all those years watching it, so it still retains to be the best.

I watched every episode of The Wire, but it's hard work. Very often slow, and quite tedious. It's worth watching, but you can't compare it to something as exciting as Lost. Best thing about the entire show is...

Best series after Lost imo is The Sopranos.

Same, I considered fucking it off after the first few episodes but after I thought it was brilliant.

It was last year so dont really remember, but its one of the best series ive seen to date. Others will disagree but some of the storylines in it I thought were brilliant . There are parts that are tedious, but the rest makes up for it imo.
