Hey folks
Right, I have just purchased a set of alloys with decent tires.
My current alloys are shit, kerbed, peeling and they leak air.
However, the tires on my current rear alloys are only 3,000 miles old so I'd like to keep them for spare/winter.
I'd ideally like to do this: fit my new alloys. Take the tires off the current rears. Bin everything else.
Where do I bin alloys? Can I get some cash maybe?
How much should I expect to pay for tire removal/disposal?
Any help appreciated

Doubt you would get much for the wheels unless you advertise them somewhere as needing repaired, someone wanting a spare may buy them. If you can't be arsed doing that then just take them to the tip, they usually have a place for old alloys/tyres and dont charge anything, although there's a limit on how many you can take.
Most garages would charge a few quid per wheel to change tyres and fit new valves and balance them, anywhere from £5 to £15 unfortunately, depending on where you go.

I have an 18" LCR alloy that needs binning. I might melt it down and create a robot suit

I'll always buy alloys and take tyres if they have a reasonable amount of tread left.

Thats the way i roll when looking for new tyres.
Look for a set of tatty wheels with the tyre size i need.
Last set i bought cost me 60quid.Got 4 good 205 40 17s on them,took them off,kept 2,sold the other 2 for 40quid then scrapped the wheels for 46quid.
All in all got 2 tyres that i needed and 26quid in my pocket.

As said, Weigh the alloys in, Get a little money back.
As for the tyres either leave them at the fitters or take them to the local waste disposal yard as they have a skip for them.

I need to find a place near me that takes alloys and cats.
Can get rid of steel very easily for a good price but they don't want the other stuff.
