The BMW is going back to the finance company, so I'm on the lookout for something cheap to get me to and from work.

I don't want anything boring, so no crappy shopping cars with 3 horsepower, and the missus won't be happy unless it's relatively new (as in, nothing from the 80s )

I'm really struggling though.

Budget is around a grand, at a proper push £1500, but I'd rather spend the lower figure.

All I've found so far are a couple of Clio 172s and a Legacy GT-B twin turbo

Any suggestions?

Going from a (3 or 5 series, cant remember?) new BMW to some shit mobile for £1000? Your missus may need to lower her expectations!
