Me and a few mates had a discussion which we would rather have. My mate just bought a 5 plate 2.5 WRX saloon, i like both so couldn't choose & the rest were undecided also so thought I'd ask what other members prefer.

Exactly that. It's not just the engine that isn't as special, it's the entire thing. The chassis on an STi, the DCCD, the Brembo's etc etc. For the price of an M3 you could get a very capable Scooby. Like this: http://pistonheads.com/sales/2867235.htm Guy may sound like a twat but that would smash an M3 in every performance aspect But then some would say it isn't as fun, just faster.

agreed, although that one in the ad seems strange, obviously not on standard VF35 turbo and he reckons 400bhp with no mention of turbo upgrade

but yes for the cost of an E46 M3 you could get a more capable faster subaru, wont be as comfy or have as many luxuries though. Guess its down to personal preference

I really dont understand how mongs like this get enough money to buy a car like that yet can't even spell 'qwick or sistum' correctly.

I wouldnt buy that car soley for how the advert is written. I think if he/she cannot spell the basic of basic words, what does he know about servicing and the general well-being of the car?

And before the disletrick crew come along....you would get somebody else to write the advert for you.

M3 even if it was an STI. Unless it was a WR1, got a thing for those.

Far better example Spec C's are fucking awesome

Thing is though, it depends what you want from the car. It's obvious that the BM will feel far better inside, and is seen as being more "driver" focused. The Impreza will undoubtedly be far quicker from A to B, but being AWD you may not get as much of the fun.

Comparing a WRX STi and an M3 is like saying to do you prefer a Blowjob and a tit-wank or full-on hardcore sex.
