The FTTC that BT is rolling out, is there any chance this may be available through Sky in the near future?

Fttc isn't 21CN. It might be available in a couple of years minimum. No time soon though.

If i remember correctly, SKY were trialling it but that was a few months back. Might be worth having a look on the thinkbroadband forums. On a similar note, Openreach have just released a 110Mb FFTP line

I've just upgraded to that BT Infinity Sam. BT are pissing me about at the minute though. Was meant to go live 6th June, then they changed it to 16th and now the 22nd. I'm not to bothered about the later change as i'm down London for a week come this Friday but just hope it's on when i get home.

Work pay for mine so the £36 package a month is not a massive issue for me.

I've migrated from PlusNet as they are a bunch of retards. I work mon - fri and they only support the home product 9 - 5 those days. Useless! Then i'm capped to a max of 80GB

To answer your question, i'm quite sure Sky will catch up soon enough. There packages are pretty good and reliable. Sky could not assign me static IPs so had to give them a miss.

I'm sorry but why didn't you change your package, also for someone that is out all day how do you download over 10gb of data a day especially when downloading off peak doesn't come into your allowance.

BT aren't exactly being quick with the rollout without even thinking of giving access to third parties.

Why are they concentrating on super 100mbps lines when people out in the sticks can barely get 2mbps

I read something the other day that said BT were taking longer than expected with the FTTC rollout due to problems with blockages in ducts or something like that?

this and the fact the only lines they seem to be upgrading are people who can already get a half decent speed.

Because they are a business? They can make way more money doing 100mbps in the towns/cites than they will get for fixing those 2mb lines.

Why doesn't anyone else come along and sort it

It's available to other providers through BT's Wholesale Broadband Connect product.

BT's WBC FTTC and FTTP offerings are delivered using their 21CN Network.

I didn't know 21CN encompassed FTTC

I did know other companies had access but BT are possibly the worst company in the country so I wouldn't fancy my chances.
