As you may or may not know.... Fee and I are doing some charity work to raise funds and awareness for the Colin McRae Vision.

We would be greatefull for any donations, big or small http://trackscotland.co.uk/trekscotland/donate.htm

What are we doing?

see - http://trackscotland.co.uk/trekscotland/

quote:
The Colin McRae Vision Charity was formed in the aftermath of the tragic helicopter accident, which claimed the life of Colin McRae, 1995 World
Rally Champion, along with his young son Johnny and two family friends in September 2007. In the light of the incredible response from the public via phone calls, letters, e-mails and at the Memorial Service in Lanark, the McRae family decided that it might be possible to utilise the profile of Colin's name and worldwide rallying achievements to raise funds for charitable and worthwhile causes. As the main figurehead of the Vision, Colin's wife Alison decided that special emphasis should be given to Children's Health and Education Initiatives.
In 2010, the "Vision" bought specialist medical equipment for a new children's Intensive Care Ambulance for Yorkhill Children's Foundation. This will serve an area within a 2 hour radius of Glasgow and allow critically ill children to be transferred while receiving life saving treatment. We also joined forces with Subaru UK to organise an Emergency Response Vehicle for the Foundation. The first little girl to benefit from this was from Stranraer and after a short stay in Yorkhill, she returned home safe and sound.

A brand new X-Ray Bed in the local hospital in Carlos Paz, Argentina was our next big donation. Carlos Paz is the base for Rally Argentina. This area has embraced the worldwide rallying community for years; however still has a lack of basic medical facilities for the local community. Recent communication from Carols Paz has been resounding in the success of this donation.

The Children's Traffic Foundation in the Czech Republic provides funding for the education of children who have lost one or both of their parents in a road traffic accident and the "Vision" gave funding to the 7 children within the Zlin area who are in need of support.

We also supported the Elpida Foundation for Children with Leukaemia and other Cancers by purchasing electronic infusion pumps for the delivery of chemotherapy.

One of Colin's desires was to try and make rallying more accessible and we are delighted to continue to support the Scottish Rally Championship's Junior Rallying Training & Development Programme. This programme offers free training modules to under 23 year olds in various different disciplines which include driving /co-driving skills, sports psychology, fitness/nutrition and media awareness.

Amongst our projects this year, we are working with the Children's Hospice Association of Scotland (CHAS) and Northern Ireland's Children's Hospice. These are for specialist beds and physiotherapy treatments. We are also in talks with IRC for donations with Rally of Scotland and the new event in Hungary.

Whats the point in putting a negative spin on this thread from the outset?

The charity is there to raise money to help people. The ins and outs of a motorsport legends death arent really the topic here.

Please stop trolling.

I bought a Colin McRae MK2 Escort rally car of the PSN store and the money goes to Colin McRae Vision so I won't be donating.

Hopefully be able to attend the rr day if work allows and I can get a few things done to the ibiza. My cousin just got back last monday from climbing kilimanjaro and managed the whole climb. Unfortunately caught food poisoning after the climb and ended up in hospital in nairobi and is still being sick 6 days later

You should have ended at 'she managed the whole climb'! I don't want to hear horror stories!
We've got a rather nice hotel in Zanzibar booked for the week after the climb to recover

How did she find it? (other than the puking part!)
