If I understand this correctly, it's the home router that you can buy from Vodafone that can be hacked, not just any old part of Vodafone, right?

well i thought that, but couldnt work out if that meant anyone on vodafone would log onto the router automatically when in range and details can then be downloaded?

They've 'hacked' the femto cell which gives access to vodafone's core network, which they then get the details they need to do other stuff, I'd imagine you can spoof a simcard with the IMSI and keys etc.

GSM was hacked a while ago, any phonecall can be listened into by anybody with the internet, a bit of time and a bit of money.
