Unless it's crossing a solid White line, no you're not breaking the law. Although if it's effecting other traffic by you having to drive on the wrong side of the road then it's just plain selfish IMO. If you're courteous and pull in to allow others in both directions to pass first, then attempt the manoeuvre then FairPlay, but I'm Sure this can't always be the case if it's a busy road. There's a long road of speed bumps leading down to where NeilM and I used to live, never had a problem in that car before the previous chavs got a hold of it. When I had my decked 1.4sport however I just drove down on the path when it was clear (we're talking at night here before the CS police start)

they are designed like that to not effect ambulances and large emergency vehicles, usually means it doesnt affect larger cars either though

i take them at 30-40mph in the escort, it was misjudging one that made me hit the kerb and wreck two alloys
i still do it though, am just better at it now

those speedbumps were a nightmare in the corrado*. sump, subframe and exhaust got a going over

in the corrado i just put one wheel on the hump and the other on the normal road level.
you should be fine imo

i hate those bumps that look likke a bit of road, they should all be coloured red to make you aware its actually a speed bump

I'm taking a risk if I try and straddle those in the S3 and it's on standard suspension. It hangs it's sump down like a cows udders so I have to slow and drive two wheels over them to be on the safe side.
