Body Mass Index

could someone explain to me how this works? isit a good / accurate waqy of measurring your health? i eat a balanced diet and dont over indulge in fatty food / drink and cycle circa 60 -70 miles a week

just im 160cm, aged 21 @ 75kg

bmi is at around the 30 mark, apparently obese

BMI is bollocks, you could be 6ft 4 and ripped like a motherfucker weighing 17 stone and it'd still work out you was obese according to BMI.

160cm? That's whats doing you in then.

I wouldn't pay too much attention to it anyway, if you are putting that much mileage in I'd imagine you are pretty healthy, depending what you are munching in-between like.

wts wrng with 160? prob 155, but cnt c tht mking much difference

a mix of nrmal hom,e grown veg and fruit, and salads and occasional fatty food n binge session

You want to calculate your body fat percentage as BMI is quite simplistic.

BMI is good for the general population but for anyone athletic its a waste of time. Muscle weights more than fat however muscle is more dense so takes up less room.

25.99 bmi here. (supposed to be 25)

However I have very little fat and just muscle so I reckon I'm about bang on really.
