Just to let you know that Akira is on Syfy channel at 10pm in HD.

For those that havent heard about it (guessing most of you) its one of the biggest anime films out there and has a big cult following.

Also Warner Bros are closing in on a deal to have the rights to make a live action film.
This has been happening for a long long time now.

So if you want to see what all the fuss is about and want to make your mind up before seeing a live action version in years to come, its on tonight at 10

na genuine guess. I've tried speaking about anime in public before and got blank faces from everyone

I would say more people have heard about GITS: SAC because its being going for years.

If I went into the city centre and randomly stopped people asking if they'd heard of akira you'd get about 2% knowing what you're on about, 5% that thinks its a make of car and the rest would just stare through you. I'd say its a bit of an obscure one as well anyway

I only know what it is because my cousin showed me it years ago, wasnt that impressed

I have loved it ever since i watched it on Cartoon Network on the marathons when i was 10 odd thought the gundams were awesomo.

what i was saying was im suprised there is another gundam fan on here its bit of a geeky anime tbh not a badass one like afro samurai where its got loads of kick ass in it

I havent seen Akira for at least 10 years! I have the first Ghost in the Shell (and playstation game) but havent seen any of the other films.

Got some other strange manga film somewhere with some extremely strange sex scenes in with strange animals/aliens?
