Well if that's being fussy then i'm being even fussier, looking for one with less than 80k, found a few but nothing close enough
i cant see why anyone would put a more used engine in
found a 120k auto for 400 auto prevents a fair bit of ragging i guess

True that, i just think a higher mileage engine should be rebuilt before being dropped in, as per c20's. The main reason i'm wanting to do a x18xe1 is because of the ease and cheap-ness of the conversion, re-building the engine would defy the point of that in my mind. So yeah, the lower the mileage the better
I've found someone splitting an auto with 60 odd on the clock but he's just supplying the engine bare

He wants 200 but comes with no ancillaries either so by the time you've built it back up it'd probably have cost twice that

Right, so i could purchase say the engine that comes complete with all ancillaries but no ecu, chip and transponder and then buy something like this -
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VAUXHALL-ASTRA-G-MK4-1-8-16V-X18XE1-ECU-KEY-IMMOBILISER-/110718519892?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item19c7568a54
And that should do the trick?
