I am going for the RX here.
Recently did a load of work for guy who owned one, never had anything to do with the 8 but have dealt with the FD and FC before.Totally different car.
Its large enough to fit all of his kids in whilst still having the appeal of a small sporty car. With sensible driving he was getting a pretty respectable MPG out of it.
He said that he almost went for something else but was really glad he went for the 8.
Dont think i could turn down a rotary if i had the chance!
Hondas are nice, they are good fun, you will love it and i have had my fair share of hondas and would recommend one to anyone, but i think you might enjoy the 8 more.
I know i certainly loved the brief time i spent driving his!
They also seem to be going for a very good sort of money as well.
All in my opinion of course.
Only way your really going to settle it is getting out there, speaking to owners and driving some cars!
Good luck! Either way you have got it down to two really good cars!

Sort of missed the every day bit...
I would go with the CTR.
You see a lot of them on the road like some one said. But that must only be a good thing?
A DC5 would be better though

A-men to that!
Never driven an RX8 so can only go by hear-say. Had an EP3 for over 2 years, it never bored me and never went wrong and it got well and truly abused.

RX8 is like one of those old sterling silver tea sets your nan owns, it looks nice but when you come to sell it you realise its worth fuck-all and no one wants it.
