I would keep it, sky don't like other routers being used, if you need any support in future it might require plugged back in.

On a similar subject (sorry to piggyback onto your thread!) will I be able to sell a Sky+ HD (250gb) box if the previous owner didn't pay thier bill? I.e. will the new owner be able to pair up their own card with it?
