were the discs brand new? because if so alot of new discs come with a layer of paint usually a primer colour to prevent them from rusting in storage before being purchased as a thin ammount of oil isnt the best idea to prevent rust on a break dics coz some people are to stupid to clean them 1st so they use paint.

Didnt come out quite right that What I meant was the distance from the "bell" of the standard disc is probably smaller ie/ the thickness of the contact area that has been marked into the new disc is what you get on the standard discs?

Does that make sense? Thats if the setup is standard tho?
