As above, heard the new sony units cdx m1000tf and MEX-5DI arent really rated by many people after reading the car audio forum???? i think these units look dead smart esp with colour screen i suppose the only down point is not being able to remove the face. Also the fact they have no internal amp (how much are one of these?)

Whats ur view on them?

It's cause they're all gay Alpine lovers

Nowt wrong with my HU and it looks a hell of a lot better than Alpine, and sounds a lot better than Pioneer or Kenwood one's i've had before

apparently the mex5di does have detachable front , also has mp3 cd ability.

aye mine just had an off balance laser fault tho. odd eh lol CEL didnt want to know about it, dey was tellin me it was something ive done! Took it to Uplands and they sorted it under sony warranty

The one u want happy needs seperate amplification like i said. You just need to buy a 2 channel amplifer to power your front speakers, and connect it to the preout on the unit.

tbh i think i am doing that already not sure thou, i have a 2 channel amp that goes into the sub and something thing else as well

How would u rate the cdx m1000tf??? might sell my pioneer mh8400 to my mae and buy the sony one cos it looks wicked but the one realy problem is that u cant remove the face which makes it a bit dangerous

Shame really cos if it was detachable i think i would have purchased the unit. They have tried to cover it up by supplying a black cover in which u simply put over the machine but it still no use, frigging sony idiots!
