Can anyone clear this up for me -
What is that actual state of play now ive removed my rear seats.
In terms of -
What do i tell the insurance company.
Do i have to change the log book.
Will they fail it come MOT time if it says 5 seater.

It will only fail the MOT if the seat belts are left in. I never bother letting the insurance know or anything.

you should do all of those
and if you change the log book mot will say 2 seats, and its belts they test not seats
how ever i know nobody that has told dvla or ins and never failed mot, or been questioned on it

Tell insurance the rear seats have been removed, chances are they won't be bothered but better safe than sorry.
You're supposed to change the logbook but it's never likely to cause any problems. I've never had to show my logbook to anyone so who's going to get onto the fact it's not right.
In regards to MOT, they don't know what it says on the logbook, they just test what's present so if there's no seats and no seatbelts, there's nothing to test. Keeping the seatbelts without the seats is an MOT fail though so they need to be removed.

Just make sure you have belts fully removed!
Saying that I only got and advisory last year for it!

Is there any rules around Sharp edges? Specifically under the door cards if they're removed

Sharp edges will have to be covered up or it will fail
|
