Hey,
I currently have a Love Film subscription that we use several times a week for Blu-Rays and love it. I was looking at getting a PS3 for GT5 and a few other games and know that you can stream from Love Film onto it.
I've had a look on their site and my current subscription would cover me for unlimited streaming. Please see below for a few questions you may be able to help me with:
1. Has anyone streamed through their PS3? What did you think of it?
2. Is it free to be a member of the Playstation Network?
3. They recommend a download speed of at least 2Mbps. I have just done a speed test and get 2.57 Mbps, I'm guessing this should be ok. This was a wireless result, should I see much faster hard wiring the PS3 to the router which is approx 5m away?
Any help is much appreciated.
Cheers,
Tim

I've got a Sony TV which has the same functionality as the PSN lovefilm bit. Last time I looked, it didn't support HD streaming regardless of internet connection - so I didn't bother with it.
Interested to know if this has changed though.

I've watched a couple of short things to try it out and the quality isn't HD or anything but if you fancied watching a film at that short notice (or Blockbuster is closed etc) then it's ideal.
I've not had any problems with juddering or buffering, but I've just done a test and got 7.17Mbps. The system isn't perfect though as I have tried to rewind bits before and it will do it sometimes but it usually makes the picture smaller for some reason so it has a black box round it. Other than that I've had no problems.

I found the quality wasn't great and the selection of films was even worse.
I now have Apple TV and while it works out more expensive, it's 720p quality and the selection is excellent.

As said, quality isn't brilliant. Better off waiting for Netflix UK.
