I have a warranty with car care plan. My engine management light has come on and i have scanned it and was a egr valve.
I have spoken to garages and they wont invoice the CCP warranty company. They want me to pay for the work and claim it back.
The CPP wont tell me if i am coverd untill the garage phones and tells them whats wrong and also the estimation for the bill And then they will tell the garage if i am coverd.
What i dont want to do is get the garage to phone up and explain and quote then to find i am not coved. (Been stung before!)
Any tips advice what i can do? If i am not coverd i dont want a £30pr hour labour bill and £150 part when i can fit a used part for £50.

mates car had a warranty and his wheel bearing went, garage diagnosed it, but warrantly company wanted them to take the hub and bearing apart to inspect, its a sealed hub unit and needs replacing as a whole so that wasnt possible, guy at the warranty place wouldnt pay out unless that was done, even when the garage said they cant do it and it wouldnt prove anything anyway as the bearing will break if you tried to split it by force, the guy just goes "look im a trained mechanic and we wont pay out until its done"

Will you not have an excess to pay?
Will this not be more than the £50 used part?

what car is it you have?
EGR valves usually get gunked up with exhaust gasses and soot especially with diesels.
an overnight soak of the EGR valve in petrol usually does the trick.

Those warranty plans aren't worth the paper they are written on.
My wife had one on a 53 plate Micra she used to own, it needed a new cam chain and some work done on the exhaust valves due to some power loss issues (it would cause the car to stall sometimes).
They wouldn't pay out and so she had to fork out just over £1k to get it fixed.
