If I had so much as a driveway I would have stripped my mazda for parts when it broke instead of spending a fortune on it

Its really awkward working on mate's cars when I can't do anything to mine as its parked on the road at all times.

I took my c20let corsa off the road, spent a fortune buying bits and getting shell repainted etc...
Was off the road for ages, and ended up giving up in the end and selling it in parts.

Wished I had just left it as it was, waste of time and money.

It's very easily done. The hobby is in the aims, but actually doing it is hard particularly when there are 10 more important things to do.

Worst thing you can do with a project car is not need to finish it.

My mate took his S2 escort RST off the road in 2006. In that time, he has stripped it, filled holes in, and had it painted. Thats it. He did that in the first two months and sat there since. He has spent thousands on parts yet put non of it back together.

As most of the parts are brand new (like 6 pot brembos, Set of comp Mo's, a 2.1 turbo engine built from scratch), i said why dont you just get rid, to which i got a right load of abuse. :S

Basically the same as my story...and if you ask me, it will have the same ending.
