Anyone suffer from this? Just been told I have quite high blood pressure for someone of my age and size (c.150/90)

Got to get back into the exercising (which I wa slook at doing again shortly anyway) and also eat more healthily ie try not to eat 6 bars of chocolate a day

Robbo, I have hypertension (high blood pressure).

Within a year I had to have loads of tests to make sure it's not caused by diet or something hereditary etc.

They still don't know why, apparently some people just have high blood pressure.

I have to take about 3 different tablets daily to lower my blood pressure, although this keeps changing because it's still not low enough to be "normal" yet.

If you think you have high blood pressure - I would suggest you see your doctor about it as a matter of urgency, because if left untreated it can cause problems with your heart etc. long term.

hospital diagnosed it yesterday but got a follow up with my doc next week to organise some further tests but i know i need to exercise and get my diet sorted but still need to get to root cause

Ahh OK sorry I wasn't sure who actually told you from your original post.

Tests will take ages if it's all under the NHS so don't expect a quick turnaround for a conclusion/medicine!

BTW - obvious one I guess, but try not to have lots of stress in your life.

impossible for me but i'd say given i have done no exercise other than 2 games of football in the past 4 months and that i ahve the worst diet ever is msot likely the cause
