i have a corsa b 1.4 16v sport and wondered if i bought 17's would they rub against the arch? i am also looking to lower it by 40mm all round so would this pose a problem?

For our newbie friend:
Ensure the alloys are et (that's the offset) 45-49.. and at most 7" wide. Lowering 40 shouldnt be too bad, you can go down 60, and with some arch mods it wont rub.

Debolting the rear arches, and bonding them back on with sealant or similar should do the trick
