Anyone ever studied from one of these home based learning companies?

Ive always fancied studying to a more higher level. My family situation means icant just leave my job and start a fresh. so ive just been looking at degrees in engineering from the open university.

Are they reconised in the industry and accepted as well as going to uni etc?

The prices look very very expensive, but it looks like it would span alot of years, so could be worth doing.

Yes I fancy it, then I realise I barely have 10 minutes to myself anyway and discount the idea

They are held in fairly high regard within industries because they take a lot of effort.

I'd consider doing one.

I have time in my current job, as i work shifts.

so from 2pm till i go to bed one week, and till 1pm the next.

So much time to waste, seems like a good idea

Seem so expensive, but then if each module take nearly a year to do, 400 over a year is managable

Can you spare a couple of evenings? A lot of universities do part-time course, you can do a masters in 2 years.

It might be mainly London unis but it's worth checking near you.

I'm contemplating doing one, can get loans for tuition fees as if it was any other uni course.

I start mine in feb, the fees are over £700 but because of how much I earn and my outgoings, I can get a grant over a grand to cover it, and books etc. I'm studying foundation science then specialising in biology to get me onto my vets degree at Glasgow

I start mine in Nov as mentioned in another thread. BA (Hons) in leadership and management. Which covers a lot. My first module is 6 months long and is close to 500, but as others have said you can get a grant and also pay monthly whilst your doing it. I've gone through ousba and they spead the fees out over the period you ate studying per module. Register for the course your interested in and they will send you the paper work along with the ousba finance papers as standard.
