Which would you choose?

Astra GSi Mk4 - 03/53 ish
Civic Type R - 51/03 ish
Clio 182 - 54/55 ish

All around same mileage and same budget.

Insurance wise:

Astra £1,050
Civic £1,300
Clio £1,150

Ive had a 182 alredy. Getting persuaded towards Type R atm.

Also to add it will only be kept for about a year whilst I save for a house with the Missus. Then it will have to go, so basically last chance for something fun for a while.

Saving for a house so your last chance to have fun Im doing it the opposite, once the house is bought then get something daft

From what youve said id say CTR. Haven't owbed any but youv'e already owned the 182 so that leave astra GSi and CTR and from what Iv read on internet etc the GSI needs some money spent on it before it comes alive and any good

Wasn't a fan of how the Mk4 GSI's drove tbh. Mainly gearbox and lack of steering feel.

sc0ott the old ek9 comes with 170 to 180bhp standard iirc and waigh less than the k20s if you put a vti 1800 bottom end on a ek9 ya can push power quite high and at verry low cost and the ek9 is only 1600

i had a 1600 en civic vti modded to do 13.6 1/4s i will get vid put up when i can to show ya what portential ya can get from the older civics with very little money

Long gone that mate, took £2,800 for it. Had an Astra SXi since that and sold that too.

187 standard.
Didnt know we were comparing a modded ek9 with a standard ep3.

A good ek9 will cost you around the same as a low mile 55 plate ep3 which is probably over his budget
