just bought a rear strut brace for in the boot of my car, got one side tightened down with a 19 socket but the other side is just catching on the threads and then just spining the shock. Cant get spanners into to this is there a way i can stop the shock from spining

Jack up the back of the car, get some mole grips on the top of the rod in the wheel arch, start doing it up you won't need to hold them because they will stop on the arch.
