They went with songs to the battle, they were young.
Straight of limb, true of eyes, steady and aglow.
They were staunch to the end against odds uncounted,
They fell with their faces to the foe.
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them.

Tbf it's ridiculous that threats like that have to be made. People shouldn't need to be threatened into paying respects.

RIP

Last year I had a word with a few disrespectful nobs who ruined it. One of them was in his 50's. I know that doesn't matter but the older generation are usually more tuned in as they would have lost close family.
Everyone took part this year so that was nice.

We had a Requiem Mass for my Grandad at 9.30 after he passed away on the 31st October and then during the memorial at the Senotaph at 11.00, they spoke about him and his time spent in the Chindits in Burma during WWII. It was a nice and fitting tribute given that we can't have a proper funeral.

Our work said only one minute. We all ignored the tight feckers and switched everything off for the two minutes silence.

Are times that hard that they can't afford to lose two minutes production? Nobs.
