Clutch I took off the 12v had GM/Sachs marking so as long as it wasn't a genuine replacement, that lasted 180k.
Only replaced it due to a noisy bearing really.
Traffic van lasted 100k before the flywheel, clutch and gearbox went at once.

Just because the service history says it's never been done does't mean that a previous owner hasn't had it done as a homer or something

True but it's an ex fleet car and every fleet car I've dealt with has had reciepts for everything when it's sold as they tend to get more cash for them at auction!

Guy at work has a 1999 passat 1.8t with 242k before the original clutch gave up. He had the car from new when he was an estate agent and bought it off them when he left.
Also it's easy to check ex fleet for work as they are always taken to dealers and you can get the maintenance log for them
