Don't price it too high
Be honest

With it being such a common car I suspect the MOT & Tax nearly being out will put people off aswell, that doesn't answer why it struggled to sell for the rest of the time but for now that would as I can't imagine it's worth much so people don't want to spend a couple of hundred just after buying it

from my lesson of things, apart from this forum maybe....... dont put too much information. allow people to ask and actually speak to you.

Make sure you have good pictures, woman i bought my mini off hardly had any interest as the pictures didnt show the whole car (some were top half etc

When i came to sell it I took loads of pictures and sold it for what i got it for a few months previous, within a couple of weeks.

Where are you advertising it?? How often are you advertising it?? And how much are you after for it??

Ive had 2 Mk4 Astra's and both sold within a reasonable amount of time. They aren't hard cars to shift.

I could only suggest the price is too high compared to others on a like for like basis.

Yep, can only be priced too high. I've always sold cars within a week or so since I look what's on the market and price accordingly.

You started off asking for £1200, you've finally came down to £450, knock another £150 off it and that's probably more realistic.

This. I had a 52 plate mk4 Astra 1.8 six 3 door. Low mileage. Prices on trader/piston heads shown the cheapest similar one was £1850 so I priced mine at £1750, sold within 5 days.

Tbh now with a years test on at the right price it will sell, there's always someone needing a run around.

ive always put Or nearest offer or Best offer on the advert, and still no intrest,
nearly bought a corsa today, X reg (b) 5dr, but really over priced. £1695

He would allow me £400 on part ex, even though i bought from him, for £950.

It's not worth £600, it's not worth half that as a part exchange because it's useless to a dealer.

I do wonder where people get their prices from sometimes? Do people not look at the market, see what's available and price to suit? The mind boggles.

Jesus Christ.

X reg 5 door for £1695

Astra with no tax for £600

Its in the pre 2001 band, right? So over £200 pa to do that.

Plus it's expensive to insure? Needs to be very cheap.

im having it taxed end of the month, id problyl be looking in the new year if to sell it, i have looked on ebay, at the prices, and they range from 400-500 ish in my colour..lol it would be some were around that area... if realistic.. ive priced it a bit high as i know i would get knocked down in the price.

Sadly thats true ian, its got 44,000 on the clock..
when i saw it, i thought omg .. he can be serious... but when i have my first expensive car of him, i paid £1995 for a t reg rover.. Madness
