heli coil them, any sort of adhesive in there would make removing any snapped studs in the future a nightmare

if you used chemical metal then drilled and re-tapped it it could maybe work, other than that it's heli coils as you say or a new head altogether.

Heli coil is best bet chemical metal is ok for a short term fix aswell or could always drill and tap holes bigger

The only thing about heli coiling the head is that it's aluminium but the heli coil will be steel. Can't see it being a major problem but I'd be giving it a good dose of copper slip at least anyway mate

Why's that a problem? A lot of builders of big power engines using ally blocks etc helicoil the tapped holes for head studs etc,
Also the helicoil in the head will be a lot stronger that the original tapped thread.

I was talking shite about that thing with the materials mate, getting mixed up
But using helicoils in blocks for head studs is a bit different, I'd assume it wouldn't be as a repair but as an original size hole to give the thread extra strength. It's a bit different from having to drill and tap an m10 hole since for a start they'll have plenty of space. I'm not sure how much metal there is around the studs but it could be a problem
