So I'm fitting the new eibach springs next week along with some new drop link's as there on the advisory list for the last MOT and are noisy as f**k, as I'm getting the tracking done as it's being lowered I thought i may as well change the track rod end's while I'm at it as there only £8 each, and my last car one went badly and failed the MOT on it.

Question is how hard are they to fit and do I need any 'specialist tools' apart from a decent socket set ect ect?

the hardest bit is removing them from the strut. you may have the cut the nuts that screw on.
once theyre seperate just clamp the steering arm with grips or something (there may be a small hexagonal section to put a spanner on) and unscrew the track rod end. try and compare with the new ones so you screw the new ones in the same amount as the old ones where so the tracking isnt miles out for when you drive it to get tracked

Theres the track rod end itself then a nut behind it. Just crack the nut off a tiny bit then unscrew the track rod end itself off leaving the locking nut in place so you know roughly where to go to. They will do the rest at the place ure getting it tracked. You just have to swing off them to get the tapered end out of the hole once youve loosend them off haha. Either that or get a ball joint splitter from a friend at a garage

Ah ok so I could do with a ball joint splitter then? Purchasing a new 150 piece socket set / rachet spanners, so should have every think now, I'll check l the other bits when it's stripped down and see if any think else needs replacing but hopefully I've got every think that needs doing
