correct me if i am wrong about anything i try to learn as much as i can to not make wasteful decisions but also like to think of new things not always one way.

Doesn't stop at the box, gear linkage and stick are different and more money.
Second hand ones are usually well used through motorsport etc.
Plus when you consider going rate for an F20 is about 50 quid usually less, it doesn't make a lot of sense.

for what it would cost to make a 1600 190bhp, i could make an xe around 250bhp, so straight away a big gain in power and torque as the 20xe would be alot more useable.
if want something 4wd, believe me ive spent mega money on engine builds up to about 6k on my last 20xe and i know own an evo, best thing i did, its about 370-380bhp, pulls very well, grips and stops perfect. i sold my 20xe...all steel jobby and some shares in work to pay for the evo and loving it....just running costs are high.
im building an 'ideal' fast road xe for use on standard injection, but i recently priced an xe job up for a lad and with tbs or 45mm webers, would see about 215-225bhp...reliable and more than enough if want to use on the raod and track but long motor came to £2300
sequential box like a sadev 6spd new would cost near £12k new with bellhousing, mounts and shafts...very dear and only something id use for rallying...needs rebuilding after some many rallies/miles too.

yer i work with someone with an evo. insurance is quite cheap too.

im 24 6yrs ncb, 0 points and its about £1100 fc with protected ncb. reasonable but not cheap lol

love to know who thats with, most places wont insure unless cars previously been insured 12months by the current owner or over 25. mine was a nightmare to get a decent price
