Did spot this earlier, shame to see a red one like that considering how rare they are compared to the other colour GSi's.
Doesn't really explain why its for spares only or 'would make a good track car' though? Unless its to do with the key situation.

I'd just turn up with tech2 and do it, if it didn't work, walk away.

If it wasn't just before xmas I would take a gamble on that if it doesn't go for much more, would be worth a bit in parts if it is a runner or to fix up and sell.

Just looks like newer paint on the bumper and bonnet and one of the rear quarters.

The MR2 i bought for spares was like that. Front wings and bumper were bright red and the rest was faded pink. Was probably sat in the same place for months and the sun had got to it. Quick hit with some polish by hand and it brought the paint right back up. A blast with a D.A polisher will see that Astra looking normal.
