Ok me an the other half bought a D90 for Christmas as both want I start photography, my god there's a lot to learn any help or tips I'd apreciate

only advice i can give is you have got a great camera..... but not the camera i would buy to learn with you must have more money than sense
but im still a n00b with my D5000 lol hopefully tiger and the likes will see your thread and give u more possitive imput

Don't see why you wouldn't get a D90 for your first camera - the kit lens will do you good and save you having to fork out for a new one later on.
