Yes you can, drunk whilst in charge of a vehicle.
People think that just because you do not have an engine means you can do what you want and the highway code does not apply to you.

Being drunk on a bike, in some instances could be more dangerous than a car crash.
Not all about speed of vehicle, but you have to think, if you was to fall off a bike (likely when drunk) you're alot less protected than in a car.

Can hurt people fairly badly as well if you ride into someone.

Not in the slightest. If you had a drunk twat cause damage to your car as a result of their actions I'm sure you'd want them prosecuted

Could you be done for using a skateboard or rollerblades whilst drunk? What about a uni cycle?

Reporting someone for causing damage isn't the same as reporting them because they've had a few pints and want to get home.

Eh?! We're discussing people being drunk in charge of a bike, so surely the comment I made was in relation to damage being caused as a result of this. Guy on bike cycled (when drunk) into a car causing damage to it, so yes, yes it is the same.

No, you posted that you reported someone for being drunk on a bike, with a at the end like I'd expect from a copper.
Reporting someone for causing damage, who also happened to be drunk on a bike isn't the same thing.

Used to ride my bike too and from the pub at uni a few years back. As I recall, it was quite difficult/dangerous.

Eh? Did you read what posted? If someone was drunk in a car and drove into your car causing damage would you expect them to be done for criminal damage, or offences under the RTA such as drunk driving? The scenario I stated is exactly the same except the guy was on a bike not in a car?! So yes, yes it is the same

It's not, a guy in a car doing 100 miles an hour while hardly being able to see does not equal a guy falling into a bush because he can't keep his push bike straight.
If you caught the guy damaging cars fair enough, his own fault. If he was just wobbling along the road that's just so you could avoid doing any real work.

As I stated initially, he caused damage to a car, why shouldn't he get done? If someone rode into the side of my car causing a canny dent that would cost money to repair, I'd want them to be held accountable for their actions, don't care if they're on a bike, bus or a sodding ostrich! And as for avoiding real work, there's sooo much more I'd rather have done that reporting people for driving offences, waaay too much paperwork involved!

what about if you were drunk and in charge of a supermarket trolley?
i vaguely remember this happening in my teenage years. was quite funny.
was one of those ones with the magnets on the wheels. got too far from the shop while my mate was in it (i was pushing it), it stopped dead and my mate went flying
