Anyone got an up to date copy?

I'm after a valuation on my car without having to pay.

Think again John.

Corb just sent me prices from the book and it's well under that for trade in, with the miles it has.

VERY surprised at just how much value it's lost over 3 years actually.

So my valuations are high nice one.

I done a large amount of guessing with the mileage being what it is.

I'd stand to make about £250 in 'profit' if I sold it and settled the finance.

That's not going to get me a new car, is it?

But you dont take out finance thinking of how much it would be worth after you where sqaured away? I worked on the bases off it being worth nothing, so you end up with a clean slate.

Might as well get PCP or some other form of finance then.

I wouldn't finance a car expecting to have nothing to show at the end of it.

Robin, otherwise known as having £250 equity

Daveskater, whatcar will give a price but wont be anywhere near accurate. Try ringing them up asking for someone to buy the car from your for their suggested valuation. Ive emailed them a couple of times and never got a response!

you're doing it wrong. any car company will give you a GMFV (guaranteed minimum future value) at the end of your finance payment so you know the figures.

That's only if you rent it off them Ben, doesn't happen for normal finance which is basically a loan.

Sorry, what i wrote looks confussing. I mean, if i then sold the car and i would expect to be on a par with what i still owed on the car to clear the debt. I wouldnt expect to have loads of money left over as you have paid more money for the car anyway due to the interest accumulated (in my case anyway ).

I know what i mean

I know what you mean, I still wouldn't do it.

I'd expect to be able to sell the car and have at the very least a deposit for the next one, hopefully much more.

Parker's not worth the (bog) paper it's written on. You're better off calculating how many bits of gravel there are on your neighbours drive and dividing by the number of lamposts in your nearest town centre.

He isn't at the end of it though. Hense after he settles what he still owes he will only be left with 250. If he was at the end he would get the cars value...

Missing my point still. It stands no matter what point in the finance you sell it.
