on my 1.0 corsa i have replaced the lambda sensor because thats what the fault was diagnosed as, but its still running light shite. i put my foot down to move and it hesitates and then the eml comes on. when started from cold its a fecking joke. doesnt want to move and wants to die.....
im wondering whether its the sensor just after the airbox (whatever its called) but i went to vauxhall and they want £240 for one! for a fucking sensor!
can anyone shed any light to whether this is whats wrong? and if they are really that expensive!

More likely the lambda readings are implausible because its reached a fuel trim limit.
MAF would cause that if its metering less air flow than is present, which is causing the ECU to weaking the mixture.
Does it idle OK?

yeah it idles fine, but it stinks out back when i first start it. but when i set off and put the pedal down abit it jitters and the revs die.
i had a drilled airbox and i blocked the holes to see if that helped but its no different.
if i put my foot down when moving the engine actually backs off. then the light comes on.

Sounds it mate, be better trying to buy a second hand known working one, around £20 at scrappers usually and can always take back if not working

They're useless on those engines, I went through about 3 in the 5 years I had my 1.2 16v (same MAF).
Autovaux is best for a new one, genuine part and it works out about £90-100 which is obviously a good saving over Vauxhall.
If you're are going to try the scrappers, try and make sure you get a genuine one, I've bought pattern ones in the past and they either don't last more than a few months or they just don't work and show the same symptoms bar the EML.

yeah mine stinks sometimes aswell, and when i turn the engine on it makes this proper loud chainey noise for a few secs then goes back to normal! mine only does what yours is doing, after the cars been sat for abit, usually happens around 1/2 minutes of driving it, then i just change gears and its fine after that.
