I have some carbon sheeting kicking around, but not 6mm thick! I can find out how thick by lunchtime though (possibly around 2.5-3mm)?

6mm though? That's thick and if you used stuff with a core you wouldn't really want to be running bolts though it unless there were hard points in it.

Just measured what is on the car.. Its actually 4mm. I want it stiff so i can just mark it up and cut them to shape, i dont actually want to make the carbon fibre etc.

Ill have a look at carbonmods.

doesnt have to be the same thickness...

3mm will be more than strong enough whilst being cheaper!

2mm here - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CARBON-FIBRE-RIGID-SHEET-2mm-thick-180mm-x-130mm-long-shiny-one-side-plate-/150749074275?pt=UK_ToysGames_RadioControlled_JN&hash=item2319585363

prices have inflated so much since it really started becoming popular, people taking advantage of demand and the fact not many places offer it

CF is over priced (in my opinion) but it is a lightweight rigid material...

Chris - 2mm sheet at roughly 200mm x 200m (you wont use bigger than that for an end plate will you?) should be pretty damn ridged depending on the weave.

3mm would prob be better but all I saw was 2mm on the quick look i had
