Sorry probably a repost but wondering which airbox people use with there xe's and do they run better? 1.0 1.2 or 1.4?or am I totally wrong

Some people enlarge the induction pipe that enters the air box as it's a little narrower than the cavalier one it would have had. You'd need to be able to plastic weld to do it though.
De-restricting the standard airbox is easy though, just remove the panel on the wing side so it can draw in more air (no need to drill holes) and reove the restrictor pipe, it just pushes out.
Stick a k&n panel filter in if you want.

People sometime use the lid of a gsi and it's a better fit to joing hoses going to TB

We're will I find those bits and how cum ya need to plastic weld will the 1.4 piping from the maf not be big enuf like

I was told a 1.7td off a can were good but I only used a BMC cone on mine IIRC
