He was riding illegally then....So I'd keep shtum.
Insurance automatically voids when you don't have MOT or Tax

None of this adds up.
Biker being cut up? I always see bikers cutting in on cars.
If the car knocked him off his bike shouldnt he go to the police?
How can he claim off the car driver if he was knocked off his bike? Did he memorise the reg plate before it?

His insurance will be void.
Could say he was driving to get it mot'd if this happened local to his house / in the town and if he can get a garage to lie for him and say it was booked it at x time

Can i just say that not having an MOT, WON'T necesarily void the insurance.
Its not quite as black and white as that. After all, if you get pulled by the coppers and it comes back as the car not having an MOT, im pretty sure you only get a fine.

Right,
He is third party so his insurance wont pay out
An undercover police office saw it and he took the cars plate

although MOT does mean insurance is void they do not check this if a claim is made as the MOT is only valid really at the time of test
I know this as when i crashed my corsa my MOT had expired by 2 days and they still paid out to get the other parties car fixed and probably all the personally injury

Can some1 please post up a set-in-stone link to where it says no mot=no insurance
If thats the case, why is it if you get pulled for having no mot you only get a fine. Surely you should be done for no insurance if what people are saying is true.

no MOT is fine, hes claiming for his loss as a civil matter. no MOT is a police matter.
also an insurance policy is only void once the insurer voids it and notifies the policy holder. nothing automatically voids a policy

if the lack of MOT couldbe shown to be a direct cause of the accident your negligence would allow the insurer to cancel the policy and youd be expected to pay them back their costs

Yep, no MOT could allow the insurer to inspect the vehicle to make sure it was in a road-worthy condition.
