The general rule I try and stick to is "am I asking a question?" if the answer is yes, then it's one for help zone

I recon if your asking for help to do with mechanical type things help zone is the place

I think help zone is a good thing, I go into general chat to read about peoples ideas, stories about cars etc, I go into help zone to see if I can help anyone out and have a read at the problems

not enough people go in help zone or remember to go in there, which results in a lack of user power, and power = knowledge.

Not much that can be done about it now, people are set in there ways, and just forget it exists, you could make a plea for people to look in there which would work in the short term, eventually people would just start forgetting though.

Perhaps a Projects and builds style subforum/heading in general chat would help

It doesnt matter if its corsa related or not, help topics should be kept in the help zone no matter what make or model etc

General chat would be more helpful to everyone in theory but it would end up a mess if everyone used it as the help zone

The reason I use Help Zone is because most of the people that use Help Zone have useful input. General Chat gets replies like saying to change the gearbox if your clutch is gone and just a general attitude of no job too big. People talk as if things like headgaskets are something that a complete novice could do with a basic toolkit and a Haynes manual.

I'll reply only if I think I genuinely know a sloution to the problem, but it usually just gets buried under people with no clue and others just in for a chat. They're quite good to read for a laugh most of the time at least

Thats what I mean alan too many people take the piss in general chat and the people posting are probably gullable enough to believe the useless replies
