Ordered a few things from China over the years when I haven't been bothered about the extra time on delivery. I've never had any extra charges or problems, well none apart from what you expect from buying cheap knock-offs from china

I buy lots of stock from China every week, usually arrives by DHL faster than the stuff I buy from the UK.

I order things from Hong Kong quite regularly - usually arrives quicker than the stuff I order from UK based RS or Farnell and I've not had to pay tax or VAT on anything to date

I have recently bought a bluetooth adapter for my megasuirt ecu off alibaba.com. Cost me a fraction of the price it is being retailed at. Works perfectly too on the flip side I bought an arsenal away top a while back and all the fly emirates logo peeled and cracked after the first wash. I got the same shirt from a Nike store at the end of the season for £5 more and side by side the difference between the two is day and night in terms of quality
