If it's going in the gearbox then it will need hammering in, ans so nicely worded above 
Wheel bearing end will just push in.

dont smack it in too hard, I normally get a piece of wood and hit that onto the cv as opposed to smacking the cv itself
Presuming you mean inner anyways

yer its the gearbox end on the shorter shaft
ive hammered it that much ive damaged the shaft a little bit where the threads are

Put outer cv through the hub and put nut on a couple
Of threads abuse hub to hit it in if tht makes sense if ths doesn't work lie under and chap cv with a bit of wood an

Firstly screw the hub nut on to the outer cv joint. Grab some wood and a heavy hammer and hit the wood onto the hub nut but making sure you hold the drive shaft straight at the same time so you dont lose the momentum.

at the end of the drive shaft there that clip thing if thats fucked can it stop the shaft from going in the gearbox

screw driver on one of the lips on the inner cv then hammer goes in easily
how haynes tells you to do it aswell

Circlip? Yeah I've messed around with mine before and bent it out of shape lol. Get a screw driver and pop it off and try and bend it back into shape?
